Community Impact

As the region’s trusted healthcare provider, serving and improving the health of our community members is central to everything we do at Carle Health. Our commitment to the community reflects our mission to serve by delivering high quality care, conducting impactful medical research and training the providers and caregivers of tomorrow. As part of our dedication to improving the health of the people we serve, we are constantly collaborating with other organizations within our communities and policymakers to expand access to programs and resources to address issues affecting the health and well-being of our community members.

Through our Community Health Initiatives (CHI) like Healthy Beginnings and Mobile Health Clinics and close work with area partners we are focused on addressing the root causes of health concerns facing the people we serve.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Carle Health is committed to being an inclusive space for our team members, patients, health plan members and communities. Building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment lays the foundation for trusted partnerships and the delivery of high-quality care for everyone we serve. Making our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts central to all we do is how we meet our shared mission and vision. We cannot build trust without acknowledging, respecting and welcoming the diversity of identities and backgrounds among our team members, patients and health plan members.

We recognize the value of our veterans in making our mission possible as well. Carle Human Resources recognizes and understands military experience and strengths, both on a résumé and in an interview. Our team provides:

  • Assistance with translating military experience to career opportunities at Carle Health.

  • Career-related coaching and guidance.

  • Assisting with military training and education equivalencies, particularly medical jobs.

Across many projects and priorities, diversity, equity and inclusion work at Carle Health is grounded in four areas:

Building a workforce that represents and reflects the communities we serve.

Creating positive team member experiences through inclusive recruitment, retention and advancement opportunities.

Enhancing the patient and plan member experience for members of marginalized groups.

Closing gaps to create equitable healthcare outcomes in the communities we serve.

A word from the Director.

The DEI team is here to connect team members with opportunities and resources, to guide the sometimes uncomfortable conversations that bring learning and growth, and to make sure all voices are heard and valued in our organization. This work belongs to all of us, though. Each team member at Carle Health has a role to play in our DEI journey. And everyone is accountable for the actions they take to make us the trusted healthcare partner our team members, patients and plan members deserve

- DEI Director, Amy Delaney, PhD.
